CV
I was born 1974 in Karlovy Vary where I also obtained compulsory and secondary education. In the age of 18 I joined the military service in Velká Hleďsebe near Mariánské Lázně as a medical officer. After this experience I tried to work in various places; I used to be employed as a waiter, at the front desk of hotels, as a seller, as a roofer and also as a laborer. Then I started to study psychology at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno. After my graduation I kept on studying in the doctoral study programme Clinical Psychology.
Besides I obtained education in the field of psychotherapy. During four years I attended Gestalt Therapy Training in Prague and I also completed Hypnotherapeutic Training in Kroměříž. Two years I used to teach psychotherapeutic subjects at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Studies MU, but then I decided to stay as an assistant professor only at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts MU. For the most part I teach subjects thematically interconnected with psychotherapy. In my theoretical works and in my teaching I focus on psychotherapy integration; I’m trying to explore the possibility of connection different therapeutic approaches into a whole.
During my studies I used to work on the position of school psychologist in the Remedial School in Boskovice. There I gained my first practical experiences in psychology and psychotherapy. Another big experience for me was a long-term engagement in the Academic Center of Counseling and Supervision of Masaryk University; here I used to lead group therapies and work with many individual clients and students. Apart from my academic obligations in the present time I also work as a private psychotherapist and predominantly I concern myself with adult clients.
I’m married; with my wife Monica we have a son Vincent. After years of moving we finally settled in scenic town Tišnov situated on the edge of Vysočina highland. Here we managed to harmonize our need of quiet natural place and the necessity of being within reach of city Brno. Out of many of my hobbies I’d like to emphasize particularly sports and traveling. Besides I’m interested in foreign languages /English, German, Russian and Spanish/ so in my free time I translate books or review translations of professional literature.
